Tardy On Tuesday

Even though it may not much resemble it so far this week, summer is a distraction no matter what, and I confess to being affected by its lackadaisical lure. So please forgive me for missing my usually regular Monday report, but it is summer, and I sometimes like to rely on better late than never as a fallback position when I have a passable excuse.

Happily, summer is not affecting all of us the same desultory way. We had a decent week of sales and three new listings on our Monday tour. The sales reported included four in-city properties priced at $619,000, $635,000, $1,250,000, and $1,450,000, two of which had multiple offers. Imagine that.

And we saw an unusual, secluded Craftsman on Queen Anne’s west slope just listed for $2,450,000. It has its own teahouse!

It also has two separate living quarters, breathtaking Puget Sound views, and thoughtful, sophisticated finishes throughout. You find a surprise around every corner here, including, one of my favorite house features, an outdoor fireplace.

None of this is apparent from the street, a quiet little cul de sac off of 8th Avenue West. What a find.

812 W Galer St, Seattle 98119. Five bedrooms, 5.75 baths. 4500 interior square feet on a 7000 square foot lot. Garage parking for two cars plus an additional off-street space. Original home built in 1912. Asking price $2,450,000.
