U District Point Of View

After one week of February, we soldier on. I heard interesting stories from colleagues and associates this week that included multiple offers on an apparently underpriced rambler in Broadview, and, more disturbingly, a bank extortion that involved an under the table payment to the bank it would sign off on a short sale. Scandalous. Terrible.

Short sales continue to fuel alot of the business going on around town right now, maybe more than ever. The only consistency in the experiences told is the lack of consistency and their uncertain outcomes.

On a much brighter note, I just sold a condo in a new construction building in the U District. More details to come, but in the meantime, have a look from the rooftop deck. When you step through the stairwell door this is the northerly view that greets you. Lovely, isn’t it?

Somehow I hid Mount Baker behind the tree in the distance, but it does poke up over there, white with snow.

As you turn towards south, you next encounter Mount Rainier.

That green and white building across the street is Grandview Plaza condominium. When it was new construction in 1997, I was the site agent there for a couple of months, showing people around, quoting prices and knowing the nuances of each available unit, repeating the exact same information over and over again, day after day.  This was a rigorous trial I’m glad I survived so that I know to avoid it from now on.

And then the view, it gets better still.

Also, you can check the flow of traffic on I5 before setting out on a route to downtown Seattle and beyond. The traveling lights from the cars must be mesmerizing at night.
