Buyers are hovering, waiting, waiting, waiting for something to come on the market that they can consider. But when something appropriate does appear, so do the other anxious buyers, scads of them, all rolling up their sleeves, prepared for battle. It’s approaching a level of intensity we haven’t seen, even back before the bubble burst.

On this day, since I am waiting alongside my buyers for that new inventory to come along, and it’s boring waiting for something to happen, I am going to hop in a Zipcar and take a quick overnight trip to Portland. Zipcar is a new addition to the fleet of cars I use to get around. This is Anna (the Audi) and Giddyup (the Volkswagen Golf), two of dozens of Zipcars parked in my neighborhood and at my disposal. What a luxury!
