Gold in Them Hills

The pressure on real estate prices this year in Seattle has been steady, unrelenting. Buyers (and their brokers) keep wishing for more inventory and less competition. And while some have adjusted their expectations downward in accommodation, others have decided to broaden their horizons and travel a little bit out of the center where you can definitely get more for your money. It’s still wonderful Seattle, usually though with more greenery, bigger back yards, and little neighborhood businesses.

Exhibit A: my new listing in Olympic Hills. It delivers a lot for less than $400,000, a price almost unheard of anymore for a single family home in Queen Anne, Ravenna, or Capitol Hill.

Behold the great room, the heart of the home, with cathedral ceilings, aggregate concrete floors, and a wood burning fireplace:

It opens to the patio, private backyard, and perennial gardens.

Other features include four true bedrooms, two on the main floor and two upstairs, one of these the spacious master.

True, the kitchen and baths belong to a previous era, but this can be your opportunity, or maybe you’ll embrace them, like how Millennials have with 80’s music.
