Required from the Rooftops

One way to get a view in West Seattle is to get up high! I’ve been noticing lately that roof top decks have become de rigueur in new construction townhomes throughout Seattle. They provide outside space which is more and more at a premium, and, sometimes, they provide views all around.

A Sweeping Sensation

West Seattle arguably features the best views in Seattle: the stunning downtown skyline, the Space Needle, ferries, cargo ships, airborne entities -large, small, and feathered. When you can look out your window and see all this and more, it’s hard name a rival outlook. At the crest of the hill above Alki beach, this view […]

Garage Sale Bonanza

The entire West Seattle community hosted a district-wide garage sale today. Over 280 participants each posted their location on an online map (hosted by westseattleblog.com) and, from what I saw, business was brisk. My friend Mary was selling half-price wares from her big green bus. Exciting news! The bus is also for sale: $12,500. 1997 […]

Split-Level Splendor

House styles, like shoe styles or hair styles, they come and go. For example, it’s hard for us to imagine why anyone would want to lower the ceilings in their vintage Victorian home, but I’ve seen it unfortunately done enough times to understand it was once a fashionable trend. And have you noticed that here […]

North Admiral Redux

I like this house a lot. I held it open in July and it sold right after that. In the end, those buyers failed to close, so the property became available and quickly sold again last month. These next buyers didn’t even get as far as their building inspection, though; they just got cold feet. […]

1622 46th Ave SW, North Admiral

Come sit with me tomorrow on this inviting patio, perched overlooking the street to the Puget Sound shipping lanes, in one of my favorite neighborhoods in all Seattle. I recently sold this house down the street and am looking forward to revisiting 46th Avenue Southwest in West Seattle’s North Admiral district for a Sunday open […]
